How to Find the Perfect Baby Name
Congrats! You are pregnant and now you and your partner are deciding on a baby name. You may hear advice from well meaning family members and close friends, but ultimately naming your baby is your decision and one that will literally last a lifetime!
Did you know that from 1880 to 1946 the name Mary held the top spot? Last year, popular baby girl names were Hannah, Abigail and Madison.
After Mary, Jennifer was the next popular baby name for six years.
Remember to not forget to look of the meaning of the baby name you choose. While your baby might not care the background of his or her name at the moment, when he or she grows older it may be something that would like to know. Some couples choose a name that gives a hint of their heritage or they use traditional family names that have been passed down through the generations. A loving legacy is a name that is passed down through the generations such as from grandmother to mother or mother to daughter.
Purchase a small notebook and write down every name that you hear or see that you like. Write it down and then write down your last name or your partner’s last name and say it out loud. Does it sound like the right fit?
Here are the popular baby names of 2007:
Boys:
- Jacob
- Michael
- Ethan
- Joshua
- Daniel
- Christopher
- Anthony
- William
- Matthew
- Andrew
Girls:
- Emily
- Isabella
- Ema
- Ava
- Madison
- Sophia
- Olivia
- Abigail
- Hannah
- Elizabeth
Remember to choose a baby name together. While celebrity baby names are all the rage right now, it is important to find a baby name together that reflects you.
